Mission Statement

We pledge to the pet owners who entrust us with the care of their pets to look after your pet and respect your home as if it were our own. We provide our clients the loving and knowledgeable care for your pets safety in his/her own secure and healthy home environment. Our goal is to meet your complete satisfaction and the happiness of your pet and to strive to always expand and improve our services.

About Us

PW+ began in 2005 by owners Jean and Richard Vollrath. After many years of caring for and rescuing pets, founding Pet Watchers Plus gave us the opportunity to care for your pets and give them the attention they need while you are away. As professional pet sitters, we want to give you, the pet owner, peace of mind, make your home looked lived in and provide valuable security checks.

Jean and Richard have adopted many pets into our family over the years and pet sit for many friends and relatives in the Rochester Hills area. It followed naturally that we should create a service for other pet owners who can use our expertise. We are proud members of Pet Sitters International, insured and bonded and provide visits in your home, services for many domestic creatures and other added value services.

Aside from being a well travelled nature photographer and avid birdwatcher, Richard worked many years as an engineer at Ford Motor Co. Recently retired, he is eager to make this business the best in the area. Jean is a commercial artist and still continues her talents through her Zebra Designs studio. Together we have taken dog training lessons and American Red Cross CPR for cats and dogs. Our pets have always been rescue animals and currently we are the proud 'parents' of Rocco (Italian greyhound), Freckles (beagle) and three cats (Xindi, Kitty and Theo). We also have three parakeets and 2 turtle doves..

Recently I moved to Michigan with my family. We came from Pennsylvania where I had a pet sitting business. I am now living here in Michigan with my nephew and my great niece and nephew. We are a family of pet lovers. We have two dogs -Hobbes and Schaka- actually three. We also have a new member a puppy named Calvin. Calvin is just a little puppy, a mixed breed (as are his brothers).

I am an accredited Pet Sitter with Pet Sitters International. I have established my own pet sitting business: CathysPetSittingServices here in Michigan last year.

Pet Watchers Plus and I have partnered to back each other up during those heavy schedule days. This ensures all of our Clients the best possible service.

I have a real passions and love of all animals, and look forward to helping Pet Watchers Plus give that extra special care to their Clients!
