PW+ began in 2005 by owners Jean and Richard Vollrath. After many years of caring for and rescuing pets, founding Pet Watchers Plus gave us the opportunity to care for your pets and give them the attention they need while you are away. As professional pet sitters, we want to give you, the pet owner, peace of mind, make your home looked lived in and provide valuable security checks.

Ron Hingst - Owner PWP Livingston

Pet Watchers Plus @ Livingston County/Waterford, LLC is a family owned business operated by brother-sister team of Ron Hingst and Janet Golub. The oldest of five siblings, who grew up in Madison Heights, MI. both had pets while growing up and owned a number of dogs, rabbits and one chicken.

Today, as adults with grown families, both have always been pet owners and are currently multiple pet owners.

Ron is the proud owner of Luke, a sleek Black Lab/Shepherd Mix, and Jake, a “needy for attention” Golden Retriever. When Ron and his wife Diane obtained Luke from the Shelter, they did not realize Luke had been mistreated by his previous owners. They obtained Jake, from Ron’s sister Jan, and six years later the two are best buds like they came from the same litter. Ron and Diane also own a Cat, Henri, the 20 lb, “itty bitty kitty."

Jean and Richard have adopted many pets into our family over the years and pet sit for many friends and relatives in the Rochester Hills area. It followed naturally that we should create a service for other pet owners who can use our expertise. We are proud members of Pet Sitters International, insured and bonded and provide visits in your home, services for many domestic creatures and other added value services.

Aside from being a well travelled nature photographer and avid birdwatcher, Richard worked many years as an engineer at Ford Motor Co. Recently retired, he is eager to make this business the best in the area. Jean is a commercial artist and still continues her talents through her Zebra Designs studio. Together we have taken dog training lessons and American Red Cross CPR for cats and dogs. Our pets have always been rescue animals and currently we are the proud 'parents' of Rocco (Italian greyhound), Freckles (beagle) and three cats (Xindi, Kitty and Theo). We also have three parakeets and two turtle doves.

Ron is the father of two children. He also founded and operates a small public relations firm, PR Services, Inc. in Ann Arbor. He and wife Diane are residents of Howell. He is a former president of Howell Rotary, and an Oldtimer Hockey
Player and a USA certified Hockey Referee.

Ron has known Jean and Richard Vollrath since 1997 when PR Services, Inc. commissioned their commercial art studio, Zebra Designs, to provide quality graphic support. Zebra Designs continues this support to PR Services, Inc. and its clients, on an as needed basis.

Being long time pet owners, Ron and Janet have decided to follow the “foot print” established by Jean and Richard in providing quality, responsible, pet watching and services in the Waterford and Livingston County, MI areas.
